To qualify for a payday loan with eKasi Pay Credit you must be 18 or older, employed with a regular, verifiable income paid into a South African bank account, and able to pass a credit check and affordability assessment. You'll need a valid SA ID, proof of income, proof of address, an active cellphone number and your bank details.

    What you need to apply

    1. South African ID — a valid green barcoded ID book or smart ID card.
    2. Proof of income — a recent payslip or bank statement (or a secure open-banking connection) showing a regular salary. Your income must be paid into your bank account.
    3. Proof of address — a utility bill or formal document, not older than 3 months.
    4. An active cellphone number — we send important updates by SMS.
    5. A South African bank account in your name — the account that receives your salary and where the loan is paid.
    6. Affordability and credit checks — as required by the National Credit Act, to make sure you are not over-indebted.

    Who does not qualify

You must be employed with a regular, verifiable salary. Applicants who are under debt review, have court judgments, or are in arrears cannot be approved. This is responsible lending — it protects you from debt you cannot manage.

The application takes a few minutes from your phone. To begin, visit the payday loans page or read about short-term loans. For costs, see loan costs and fees.
