No — to qualify for a payday loan with eKasi Pay Credit you must be employed with a regular, verifiable salary paid into a South African bank account. We cannot lend against no income, cash-only or purely informal income, or a SASSA grant alone, because the National Credit Act requires us to confirm you can afford to repay.

    Why employment is required

Responsible lending means only approving a loan you can comfortably repay. To do that, we must verify a regular salary — through a payslip, bank statements, or a secure open-banking connection — that is paid into your own bank account. Without a verifiable, regular income, we cannot assess affordability, so we cannot approve the loan.

What does not qualify on its own

    • No income at all.
    • Cash-in-hand work with no bank record.
    • A SASSA grant with no salary.

If you are employed and paid into a bank account, you may still qualify even without a paper payslip — see Can I Get a Loan Without a Payslip? For the full criteria, read the payday loan requirements or visit the payday loans page.
